About Us

Subway to Skaville is a monthly-recurring showcase series in New York City bringing you the best of the ska genre in all its styles from traditional 60s influence to ska-core and everything in between.

Hosted by Ryan Midnight, and currently calling Otto’s Shrunken Head our home base, Subway to Skaville provides an intimate opportunity to dance with some of the best bands around. From local to regional and even nationally touring bands, the sky is the limit for who might show up to perform!

We have been proud to host nationally touring bands including The Freecoasters, Flying Raccoon Suit, The Classy Wreck, and Danny Rebel and the KGB.  We always support the local and regional scene, with performances from King Django, Hub City Stompers, Stop the Presses, Buford O’Sullivan, Beat Brigade, Joker’s Republic, The Ladrones, and Barbicide, just to namedrop a few!

Hosting and Booking Opportunities

Tours, Record Releases, and more

Subway to Skaville hosts their main event the second Friday of every month, with opportunities to book additional dates, and loves to host touring and special events!

  • Touring Bands – If you know a specific date you’re going to be in New York City, let us know, we’d be happy to work on organizing a show for you, touring support and book local support.
  • Record Release Parties – Releasing an album? Let’s make it a party!  We can book a date around your release, and book supporting acts for the show
  • New Bands – We love hosting the new and younger ska acts carrying the banner to the next generation of ska enthusiasts!  Please let us know about you!
